Programme of the Cornish National Party

 Cornish Nationalist Party

Published both in English and Kernewek, the almost lost Celtic language of southwestern Britain, the Programme expresses the vision of the founders of the Party. Not surprisingly, aside from renewed attention to Cornwall’s history and culture, the CNP never attracted enough of a following to become a political force, let alone an independent nation. The 2020 population of historic Cornwall was 568,000. The county had six Members of Parliament, all Conservatives.

WORLD AND CONTINENTAL GOVERNMENT

The Cornish Nationalist Party works for world government, continental government but with political authority decentralised to the true, natural identities and units.

Thus the CNP strives towards a federal Europe in which the Celtic countries (Scotland, Ireland~ Wales, Isle of Man, Cornwall and Brittany) are freed from their present imperialist overlords. The CNP works for Cornwall (Kernow in the Cornish language – henceforward Kernow will be used in this programme) achieving the degree of autonomy that is necessary for her total fulfilment as a Celtic nation. For the total fulfilment of the Cornish people as a Celtic people.

The CNP believes that healthy internationalism is based on strong nationalism.

CELTIC CONFEDERATION

The CNP works for the establishment of a Confederation of the six Celtic countries within a united Europe with certain common institutions and links. Where resources are insufficient at the level of individual Celtic national units, common Celtic institutions and organisations should be established. Such united institutions could be in fields such as law, currency, universities, television, radio and the press, the economy, energy sources, sports, culture, youth movements, defence and ambassadorial recognition.

(The Programme continues with its goals for the Cornish State, Democratic Government, Legal System, Language, University, Mass Communications, Social Organization and Welfare, Housing, Economy, Transportation and Communications Energy, Environment and Ecology, Sport, Culture and Recreation, Religion Youth, Defence, Foreign Policy and Ambassadorial Recognition.)
