Community Land Trust

Northeast Farmers of Color*

Northeast Farmers of Color works across the Northeast to support permanent land access and food sovereignty for Indigenous, Black, Latinx, refugee, migrant, and diasporic land stewards of color. They confront systemic barriers through land “rematriation,” cooperative stewardship, policy change, and providing technical help, education, advocacy, and network support to build enduring pathways to land access.  NEFOC operates not just through its land trust, but also via a Network: an alliance of hundreds of farmers and land stewards—including more than 700 members across New England and Upstate New York—who come together for mutual aid, skill-sharing, regional gatherings, and collective visioning. This network exists to break isolation, build joy and respect, and advance reparations and collaborative projects.
