Residents are selected from a qualified buyers list of community members who have completed the CLT orientation program. The CLT primarily serves families within the income range of 80%-140% AMI.
In 2006, a group of Maui real estate agents became concerned about increasingly unaffordable housing prices on the island. They came together with local community members and decided to found the Nā Hale O Maui CLT, as a mechanism for creating workforce housing that would be affordable in perpetuity. Fourteen of the 50 homes in the CLT were significantly damaged by the 2023 Maui wildfires. The CLT is working to support residents as they rebuild these homes.
