Initially 160% of AMI or below/ Currently serving 80% or below. Currently, the average household in the CLT makes 63% AMI.
In the early 2000s, members of the Delaware Housing Coalition identified the need to preserve existing affordable housing, rather than continuing to construct new developments that eventually are turned into for-profit entities by corporate landlords. In 2006, they incorporated the state-wide Diamond State CLT. Their land acquisitions to date have been made possible through non-profit partnerships as well as federal Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) funds. The CLT is currently rebuilding their organization after a period of lackluster funding. With the release of the statewide Housing Assessment, support for CLTs is growing in Delaware, resulting in a new influx of funding.
