John Fullerton
John Fullerton is the founder and president of Capital Institute and is a former Managing Director of JPMorgan, where he worked for 18 years. Subsequently he was seed investor and CEO of an energy-infrastructure-focused investment management company. He is the author of Regenerative Capitalism: How Universal Principles and Patterns Will Shape the New Economy (2015). As the principal of Level 3 Capital Advisors, he is also a recognized “impact investment” practitioner.
Reading the works of E. F Schumacher provided a wake-up call that showed him the importance of an economics of permanence with its emphasis on decentralism, human scale, and appropriate technology.
Fullerton is a co-founder and director of the holistic ranch-management company Grasslands, LLC, a director of New Day Farms, Inc., and the Savory Institute as well as an advisor to the UNEP Finance Inquiry and to Richard Branson’s Business Leader’s Initiative (“B Team”). He is also a member of the Club of Rome.
He has appeared on Frontline and been interviewed by the New York Times, Bloomberg, Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, WOR radio, Real News Network, INET, Think Progress, The Laura Flanders Show on GRITtv, Thom Hartmann, and The Free Forum Show with Terrence NcNally. He writes the “Future of Finance” blog.
