The Elizabeth Henderson Archives consist of three main collections centered around community supported agriculture (CSA), farming, and social justice. Elizabeth Henderson farmed at Peacework Farm in Wayne County, New York, producing organically grown vegetables for the fresh market for over 30 years. As a farmer, activist, and writer, she has exerted an enormous influence on the movement for organic and sustainable agriculture.

Henderson was a founding member of the Northeast Organic Farming Association (NOFA) in Massachusetts, has served on the Board of Directors for Northeast Organic Farming Association of New York (NOFA-NY), SARE (Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education) Northeast, and many other farming organizations at the state, regional, and national level. From 1993 – 2013, she chaired the Agricultural Development Board in Wayne County and took an active role in creating the Farming and Farmland Protection Plan for the county.
